Membership information and Application form

There are three types of membership available for HEPA

  1. Professional membership
  2. Student membership
  3. General membership

Professional membership is open to any qualified homeopath who has achieved a minimum of three years training in Classical Homeopathy/Principled prescribing*, termed Traditional Homeopathy,  or has been in homeopathic practice using classical methods for a minimum of five years. It is also available for medical personnel who have completed the intensive one-year post-graduate training programme for Medical practitioners.

For graduates of the four-year programme that has been offered through the Ghana Homeopathy Project/Homeopathy in Africa and has a certificate validated by Homeopathy in Africa/Welsh School of Homeopathy or through Homeopathy in Africa/Contemporary College of Homeopathy, no further examination is necessary. Other applicants may be asked to take an examination process** to join as a professional member.  A nine-month upgrade course is also available for those who require more training to achieve the requisite level of knowledge.

Professional members should also show evidence of knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology which can be given as part of their homeopathic training or in other medical training programmes. An upgrade training programme is offered in Pathology and Disease for those who have not acquired this level of Knowledge before.

Cost: annual dues for this membership is GH₵200 (payable in one or two installments) as of 2023

An annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme is required to be completed each year to maintain membership. This will be offered by HEPA and may include an annual conference.

Student membership is available for all students of homeopathy who have completed less than 3 years of training or have not completed the one year post graduate training programme. This includes people who have completed the certificate course in homeopathy offered by Homeopathy in Africa.

Cost: annual dues for this membership are GH₵100  (payable in one installment)

General membership is open to all members of the general public who are residents or citizens of Ghana, as well for people outside of Ghana who want to support the goals of HEPA. It may include members of civil society organizations, other charities, government officers and others who want to be supportive of the development of homeopathy in Ghana.

Cost: there is no cost for this membership. Your name will be listed on the website of HEPA unless you prefer for it not to be there.

*Classical Homeopathy/Principled prescribing (Traditional Homeopathy) is the method of homeopathy that follows the original ideas and teachings of the founder of Homeopathy, Samuel Hahnemann, which involves the prescribing of one medicine at a time using the methods of knowledge established by Hahnemann.

**The examination process will involve a combination of multiple-choice questions/short essay answers/case analysis that will evaluate all aspects of homeopathic knowledge, including philosophy and principles, repertory, materia medica, case analysis and management. Further details are available.
